Concept

Byte Footage returns face-to-face and free of charge, to experience and exchange diverse ways of relating to technology, devices, and their effects on our bodies.
 
Our cloud is out of space, and digitality needs to be rethought. Byte Footage: No Signal invites you to materialize, imagine and translate the infinite digital knowledge we have into physical spaces of exchange and thought. We invite you to connect with different crafts and abilities that remind us that our bodies, and our senses are primarily material matters.  
 
This edition offers workshops, practices, collective listening parties, live performances, and DJ sets by artists and groups such as the Red Multisonora, the activist group #proyectorazo, the visual artist Nina Kunan, the ensemble Corina Wilson, the sound artists Aylu, Vic Bang, POV, and many more.
 
In addition, the Exhibition: No Signal is inaugurated with 33 works selected from an open call launched during 2020. With production in Latin America, the works explore points of contact between technologies, bodies, and the digital archive.

The body in the digital world abandons the material and finite and opens up to other possibilities of existence between the borders of the artificial, the physical, and the emotional. Investigating various uses and ways of relating to our devices is essential to understand the effects they have on our lives.
 
No Signal is an exhibition that explores the different points of contact between technologies, bodies, and the digital archive. Produced mostly in Latin America, the exhibited works experiment with the limits between the virtual and the material to propose other ways of inhabiting our bodies and relating with our devices. 
 
This exhibition was born during the pandemic with an open call by Byte Footage. Among 900 applications, a jury formed by Diana Szeinblum, Gala Berger, and Cristóbal Cea selected the 33 artworks that constitute it.
